PRADA X ADIDAS: A MATCH MADE IN SNEAKERS HEAVEN
Rumors about Prada and Adidas collaboration circulated last month which was caused by PY_LEAKS by PY_RATES, a Twitter account that leaks fashion news. But recently, both brands officially announced in their separate Instagram accounts the good news: Prada x Adidas! Prada is known for opposing the collaboration phenomena that the other luxury brands have jumped onto.

Fashion Week is always about the newest collection and styles worn by models as they strut down the runway. Media or fashion press fight for their seat on the front to get a clear view and a story to publish. But what’s even more exciting for the fashion consumers? The influencers on the streets. After the show, photographers swarm outside the venue to capture people wearing the trendiest style or the collection from last season’s runway. The streets of Paris instantly became the catwalk of the people.

Paris Fashion Week was all about sustainability. The brands’ glamorous cry for environmental awareness was evident on the faces of the models. Makeup artists disregarded full coverage foundation and heavy contouring to pave way for natural, glowing skin. Backstage, models were prepped with facial masks and mini-massage so they could instantly look well-rested despite the number of shows they walked within the day. Models were covered with beauty balm and colored with a peachy flush on the apple of the cheeks for a more natural look. A dab of lip balm around the sides of the face for a dewy highlight. On the eyes, black eyeliner is drawn on the outer corners with a mascara on the top lashes and a light dusting of highlighter on the lids.

On the 3rd of September, it was announced in an official Instagram post that the great Peter Lindbergh has passed away at the age of 74. The fashion photography titan was known for producing the most iconic images, from black and white portraits of supermodels of the 90s’ to Pirelli Calendar – three times. He redefined the standards of the discipline by capturing the natural beauty of the models in raw portraits, which highlighted women in a new light. He once said, “I hate retouching. I hate make-up. I always say, ‘take the make-up off!”

Protesting through fashion is not a new concept anymore. The Spring/Summer collection of Louis Vuitton for 2020 was brimming with romance and naivety as the newly appointed artistic director, Virgil Abloh, incorporated pastels, bright hues, and wild flowers to his first Louis Vuitton collection that is ironically for men. Place Dauphine was closed for public as it turned into a relaxed venue for the crowd to enjoy the Parisian air and the authenticity of Louis Vuitton. The entire setting gave the fashionable spectators a sense of nostalgia as it brought them back to their childhood with inflatable castles, crepe stands, monogrammed mini Eiffel towers that served as toys, bubbles, and balloons with the iconic LV imprinted on it. As an emphasis on the childish theme, the press kits that served as an invitation was a DIY kite to remind the people to look back into their childhood and be inspired from the innocence of it.
