Gucci Fall 2017: Celebrating The Alchemist-Rebel
Aptly named The Alchemist’s Garden, Alessandro Michele presents Gucci’s Fall 2017 collection with, as always, eclectic showmanship. It’s also the first time in the history of the 96 year-old house that the men’s and women’s collections were combined – though for the designer, it’s anything but a landmark turn. Lady of the Night – ELIE SAAB Ready-to-Wear Autumn Winter 2017-18
Giselle, one of the greatest Romantic ballets, weaves a haunting story of innocence and betrayal. It spoke of a peasant girl’s death, and mystical resurrection, from dying out of a broken heart, upon learning her lover is betrothed to another.
The richness of this story flowed through the pieces of Elie Saab’s recent Ready-to-Wear Autumn Winter 2017-18 collection… “[where] layers of tulle and ruffle were heaped to whirl dervish-ly around the eerily captivating waifs, [with] marabou [dancing] down their necklines, lily-etched lace bleeding into lily-embroidered velvets, and full tulle skirts patterned with polka dots worn below bikers etched in gold-studded lily silhouettes.”

But at the same time, it also speaks something about gender.” KEEP READING
Alexander Wang SS 2017 Collection Preview
Alexander Wang’s Spring Summer 2017 collection is already out and we’ve got a preview of his latest campaign!
He approached his new Spring collection in similar ways: by deconstructing wardrobe basics like the button-down, merging male and female signifiers including pinstriped tailoring and black lace, suggesting seriously unlikely pairings such as Hanne Gaby Odiele’s sheared white mink bathrobe coat, bra top, and board shorts, and otherwise subverting the natural grown-up order of things.
Wang said the project was a year in the making: “I looked at what’s theirs, what they own, and I flipped it, literally and aesthetically.” Here’s a look:
Inside the Maisons d’Art – Paris Cosmopolite 2016/17 Métiers d’Art CHANEL Collection
Paris always comes to mind whenever we hear fashion and the state-of-the-art designs. The sophistication for beauty and detail are just timeless, and it was very evident in the recently concluded Paris Cosmopolite 2016/17 Métiers d’Art CHANEL Collection.
